Studio Zoetekauw – effective date: September 18, 2025
Welcome to Fermentor, an educational fermentation app developed and operated by Studio Zoetekauw, based in the Netherlands. These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of the Fermentor app and website, including both the free and Pro features.
By using the app, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.
Fermentor is designed as an educational tool to help users learn about fermentation, track their own projects, and explore recipes, guides, and timers. Fermentor does not provide professional food safety, medical, or dietary advice. All content is for informational and educational purposes only.
Users are responsible for working hygienically, checking ingredient quality, and ensuring that all food they prepare is safe to consume.
Fermentation is a natural process that carries inherent risks if performed incorrectly. Studio Zoetekauw and Fermentor provide information in good faith but make no guarantees regarding:
By using Fermentor, you acknowledge that you perform all fermentation at your own risk. Studio Zoetekauw is not liable for any illness, injury, or damage resulting from the use or misuse of the app, its recipes, or any related materials.
If you are uncertain about food safety, consult professional resources or discard questionable products.
Fermentor Pro is a monthly subscription that unlocks premium features inside the app, including:
Features may be updated or changed periodically.
Fermentor Pro is billed monthly. Prices, including local taxes or fees, are shown in the app at purchase. Payments are processed by the respective app store (Apple App Store or Google Play). Fermentor does not store or process your payment information. By confirming a purchase, you agree to your app store’s payment policies.
Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled before the next billing cycle. To cancel or manage your subscription:
You retain access until the end of the current paid period.
Refunds are handled by your app store’s support team. Fermentor cannot issue refunds directly but will cooperate with store support when appropriate.
We may modify, add, or remove Pro features. If prices change, your app store will notify you and request consent before applying the new rate. If you do not agree, you can cancel before the next renewal.
Pro features are linked to your app-store account (and in future, to a Fermentor account). Deleting the app or your account does not automatically cancel your subscription — cancellation must occur via the app store.
Fermentor respects your privacy. Our Privacy Policy explains how personal data is collected and processed in compliance with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). By using the app, you agree to the practices described there.
All app content, recipes, guides, and design elements are owned by Studio Zoetekauw or its licensors. You may use the app and its content for personal, non-commercial purposes only. You may not copy, redistribute, or modify the app or its materials without written permission.
To the fullest extent permitted by Dutch law:
This limitation does not exclude liability for intent or gross negligence as defined by Dutch law.
We may suspend or terminate access if you violate these Terms or misuse the app. Termination does not automatically entitle you to a refund; refund requests must go through your app store.
These Terms are governed by Dutch law. Any disputes will be resolved by competent courts in the Netherlands, unless consumer protection laws require otherwise.
We may update these Terms from time to time. The most recent version will always be posted on our website. By continuing to use the app, you accept any updated version.
